A little dirt can be easily removed with a damp cloth. In the beginning, it can sometimes feel a little stiff, but that disappears after a few days.

The name "Penny" loafer dates back to 1908. Young people who loafed and strolled (loaf around) in those days put a penny in the strap in case of emergency.
